TRANSPORT RECOMMENDATIONS

  • In the case of collection by own means of transport, the car should have an open loading platform enabling easy loading and unloading.
  • Galvanized and aluzinc sheets must be protected against getting wet!
  • “Manual” unloading should be carried out by an appropriate number of people, i.e. with long sheets (approx. 6 m), 6 people should participate, 3 on each side, paying special attention not to move the sheets one after another, not to bend the side edges and their edges. do not stretch. The deformation of the sheets during unloading and handling causes later problems with their correct assembly (gaps on the locks).
  • The most appropriate way is to unload the manufacturer’s packages with the use of mechanical devices.

STORAGE RECOMMENDATIONS

  • Oiling and passivation of galvanized sheets is a protection against white corrosion only during transport.
  • Sheets stored in bundles and coils may not be stored outdoors or in rooms exposed to moisture and changing temperatures. Zinc and aluzinc coatings, especially those that have not yet been subjected to the influence of weather conditions, i.e. without a protective zone protecting them, are sensitive to water condensation with limited air access (sheet stored in stacks). Particular attention should be paid to unloading in winter conditions and storage in heated warehouses. Due to the large temperature difference, water precipitates between the sheets.
  • Metal sheets wet during transport or storage should be dried, then the sheets should be placed with spacers enabling free air circulation. After drying, galvanized (aluzinc) sheets should be inspected and covered with a layer of preservative oil.
  • Sheets intended for longer storage should be inspected and then covered with a layer of machine oil (for galvanized and aluzinc sheets), and above all, protected against moisture (for all sheets).
  • The result of not following the above recommendations is the formation of zinc corrosion relatively quickly (for galvanized and aluzinc sheets it can be only a few days) – i.e. white layers loosely connected to the substrate, which do not protect against corrosion.
  • Coated sheets in original packaging should not be stored for more than 3 weeks from the date of production. After this time, the packaging should be cut open and the sheets should be placed with spacers enabling free air circulation. The maximum storage time should not be longer than 6 months from the production date, otherwise the warranty will be void.
  • Protective films are used to additionally protect coated sheets against mechanical damage, stresses and impacts that may occur during transport, handling or profiling. Protective films never release the sheet from the obligation to properly protect the sheets during storage or against the harmful effects of chemical agents during their processing. It is recommended to gradually remove the foil from the finished profiles, element by element, shortly before fixing the wall and roof elements to the building.
  • Improper storage may cause difficulties in removing the protective film and leave traces of glue on the sheets

CUTTING AND ASSEMBLY

  • Electric shears with a rotating head should be used for cutting metal sheets. After completing the installation, clean the surface of filings, screws, etc. In the event of damage to the surface, the necessary (point) retouching should be made as soon as possible, using a varnish appropriate to the original color of the sheets.
  • In the case of using a grinder, complaints will not be considered.Other information can be found in the assembly instructions dedicated to individual products.

MAINTENANCE AND WASHING

In order to extend the service life of roofs and facades made of coated metal sheets, they should be regularly inspected and maintained.

  • Inspection –  Once a year (preferably in spring), the roof / facade should be inspected for early detection of possible damage.
  • Sheet cleaning – Roofs / facades made of coated sheet metal require cleaning at least once a year. Dirt settling on the sheet can cause uneven discoloration (the result of uneven exposure to UV rays) and reduce corrosion resistance (dirt retains moisture on the sheet and gradually damages it). Dirty and stained places can be cleaned with a soft brush and water (max. 60 ° C). If necessary, it is allowed to add a mild detergent to the water (pH 6 ÷ 7, max. 10% solution). Pressurized water (max. 100 bar) can also be used for cleaning, however, the water jet should not be applied too close to the sheet surface (min. 30 cm), and should not be directed perpendicularly to the surface. At the connectors, the stream of water should be directed downwards so that to avoid the ingress of pressurized water into the gaps around the fittings. Old coatings should be handled with extreme care. Washing should be carried out from the top downwards and the cleaned area should be immediately and thoroughly rinsed with clean water.
  • Scouring powders, nitro solvents, chlorine solutions, aromatic agents as well as agents containing ammonium chloride or sodium salts must not be  used.
  • Damage – Repairing any damage during the warranty period should be consulted with the roof / facade Contractor and may only be performed with his approval. Damage to small areas is repaired with air-drying repair varnishes. Painting large areas is, in principle, only possible with special industrial paints suitable for renovation of coverings. The surface to be painted should be limited only to the places that require it (scratches to the metal layer, corrosion centers, etc.). Preparation of the surface for painting should be carried out according to generally accepted rules. Any signs of corrosion should always be thoroughly removed – preferably with special brushes or fine sandpaper. Then, the surface to be repaired must be thoroughly dusted, degreased and cleaned. To degrease the surface, you can use gasoline or water with the addition of surfactants (preferably with the addition of 1-2% ammonia solution). The areas to be repaired may show differences in color compared to the original colors of the sheets due to the natural influence of atmospheric phenomena (aging of the paint under the influence of UV radiation).
  • ATTENTION – During inspection, cleaning, maintenance and repairs, safety rules must be strictly adhered to.

THE COLORS

The PRUSZYŃSKI company guarantees the execution of each order in the same color (shade). However, due to the complexity of the coating processes, there may be differences in shades between individual deliveries.

The responsibility for the color is therefore limited to one delivery only.

Therefore, in the case of ordering sheets to a specific batch, please indicate on the order or inform the Merchant that it is a continuation of the order and provide a color sample.
